This excursion allows us to visit one of the most important attractions of the city of Puno, "the floating islands of the Uros", an ancient village that lives in the middle of the totora, an Aymara language community that maintains the tradition of the artisanal fishing, they are also dedicated to hunting wild birds and collecting duck eggs, men are skilled builders and drivers of totora rafts and women are expert weavers. Families that transmit their beliefs and customs from generation to generation.
The uros community has come to turn the totora into the main source of life, because of the use that is given to this junk since they use the root as the basis of these islands, the reed to build their houses, their beds, their rafts and as firewood in a place where trees do not grow have adapted the totora like fuel, and like a food for the adults but a candy for the children.
